Skate with US The Pittsburgh Figure Skating Club sponsors the "Skate with US" Learn-to-Skate program at the Schenley Park Ice Rink, located on Overlook Drive in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh. It offers classes for all ages and abilities - for tots to adults. The program will teach skaters the basic skating fundamentals of balance, edge control and stopping. The program is available for skaters that wish to learn the basic skating skills for their enjoyment and exercise, and for those that would like to learn more advanced skills for figure skating and ice hockey. The club's Learn-to-Skate program ended on Saturday, January 26, 2008. For further information, you can contact: Susan Monroe, 103 Westminster Drive, Verona, Pa. 15147, 412-242-3186. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are looking for an enterprising individual/s to take over as chairperson of the club's Skate With U.S. Program. Training will be provided. If anyone is interested, please contact Susan Monroe at: 412-242-3186 or by email at Zuzanliz@hotmail.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Below are some pictures from this year's final day of classes. Skaters gave an exhibition of their skating skills. They then enjoyed a pizza party, compliments of the club, and received their achievement certificates.
