Club Programs

Our vibrant community of adult skaters spans from energetic 20-somethings to spirited skaters in their 70s! Whether gliding for fun, pushing the limits in tests and competitions, or dazzling as national champions, our skaters bring passion and excitement to the ice. We’ve proudly hosted the prestigious Eastern Adult Sectional Figure Skating Championships three times—2011, 2015, and most recently, 2024—showcasing our club’s enthusiasm for and commitment to the sport. Come join the excitement and be a part of our dynamic skating family!

Join the Pittsburgh Figure Skating Club’s developmental skating program at Schenley Park Ice Rink in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood on Sundays from January through March (weather permitting)! We offer classes for all ages and skill levels, from toddlers to adults.

Discover the excitement of synchronized skating, the fastest-growing discipline in figure skating, with the Steel City Blades! Originating in the late 1950s at the University of Michigan, this dynamic sport has become a global sensation, with U.S. teams competing internationally. Our Open Juvenile team won the 2025 U.S. Figure Skating Easterns Sectional Championships!

Synchronized skating features teams of 8 to 20 skaters performing in perfect harmony to choreographed music. It’s all about teamwork, with the goal of skating as a unified group. Beyond the thrill of competition, synchronized skating enhances singles skating skills and offers a chance to connect with others and enjoy the camaraderie of a team sport. Explore Theatre On Ice (TOI), a blend of figure skating, theater, and dance, popular in Europe and known as Ballet on Ice. Teams of 8 to 30 skaters come together to create dramatic performances, with solo skating limited to enhance the overall story. Joining a TOI team helps skaters build confidence, develop their dramatic skills, and strengthen club spirit. Participants will perform in events like the RMU Holiday Skating Spectacular.
